Explore the Bay Area

Sample Northern California on either Wednesday or Sunday with these daylong guided excursions. Tours start and end at the Fairmont hotel. Space is limited, so sign up early! For questions on how to register for either of the day trips or for more information, please contact pai@sndsj.org





Silicon Valley to San Francisco

Discover the cradle of technology with a visit to Apple headquarters, the HP garage, and Stanford University. Next, head north to San Francisco, one of America's premier cities, and visit old-school ballpark, SBC Park, home of the San Francisco Giants. Continue with a guided tour of the city. Have lunch at Fisherman's Wharf and end the day at the Golden Gate Bridge.

Surfing Santa Cruz

Stay Sunday and spend the day learning how to surf in nearby Santa Cruz, After riding the waves, jump on a roller coaster, catch a tan and grab cotton candy at the famous Boardwalk beachside amusement park. Fees include lessons, equipment and transportation

The Society for News Design will host its 2004 workshop and exhibition in San Jose, California Sept. 30 - Oct. 2. The event expects to draw as many as 1,000 journalism professionals from across the nation and around the world.
